Greetings, everyone!

Master Daveed's 2-day Middle Eastern drumming workshop in Northkeep (not an SCA event) is only a couple of weeks away - Sept. 21-22. On the evening of Saturday, Sept. 21, there will be a hafla for all the workshop participants, as well as for all of Northkeep and mundane drummers and dancers. Expect to see friends from Namron, Wiesenfeuer, Bryn G'wlad, and other far reaches of the kingdom. We are also expecting a number of mundane drummers and dancers. This email includes the hafla schedule, hafla information, directions to the workshop/hafla site, and details on special activities with Daveed for the two nights preceding the workshop (along with directions to those activities). If you have any questions, email or call us. We're looking forward to reveling with you and Daveed! THIS JUST IN: Lady Ciaran Littlefox will be doing free henna designs at the hafla! (Especially for you, Domi!) And there's a chance she may be at one or both of the other events. NEWS AT 11.

WORKSHOP AND HAFLA SCHEDULE
Saturday, Sept. 21 - 10:00 - 4:00 workshop
Saturday, Sept. 21 - 7:00pm - ? hafla (party)
Sunday, Sept. 22 - 10:00 - 2:00 workshop (no planned lunch break)

HAFLA INFORMATION
If you have pillows, rugs, etc. to contribute to the hafla atmosphere, please bring them. The hafla is open to all dancers and drummers (and friends), not just workshop participants, and we are asking whoever can to bring a covered dish or a food or drink item for the table (Middle Eastern, if possible). We will provide chips, dips, pop, ice, etc. Alcohol is allowed, though we must be careful of the artwork around us, and there will be some minors attending the workshop and hafla. If you wish to come in medieval or Middle Eastern garb, or in dance costume, it will certainly add to the ambience, but it isn't required. Lady Ciaran Littlefox will be joining us, and she's bringing her henna - free designs for whoever wants them! But let's let her party, too ;-)

DIRECTIONS TO THE WORKSHOP/HAFLA SITE
The workshop and hafla will be held at Living Arts of Tulsa, whose drumming programs made them a natural choice for us. Living Arts is at 308 S. Kenosha, on the eastern outskirts of downtown Tulsa. Check out their website for a detailed map: http://www.livingarts.org/
