[Northkeep] The latest stuff on historical fighting research

Just a thought. If you all dont know what's been going on with the SCA
upper levels and historical fighting techniques, these appear to be being
cut off or curtailed. I don't really care if people think this is a good
thing ro a bad thing, but it does mean that several of our members here are
being told by the SCA that their efforts to are unappreciated and to take
their stuff and go elsewhere.

Now, I'm pretty sure that the historical combat research -will- be going on
elsewhere, but that doesn't mean that we need to do the standard local
practice of just closing ranks and making them feel unwanted and
unappreciated. We lose enough people as it is without continuing to drive
away people through neglect. I'm not saying that people should bend over
backwards to make them feel wanted, but you might just mention when you see
them that you DO want to see them around.

Pesonally, I am -very- appreciateive of what Johann, for example, has been
doing, and would like to see if he can't find some way to continue to do it
here.

Again, just thinking.
