I don't know... The outfits are fairly homogenous, there are no flagrant
mundanities (oh, wait, the losing baron is in some form of waffle soled
shoe, and there are a couple pairs of wire framed glasses in the background,
no cars, coolers or cell phones. No big blue tarps). It's not really until
the duct taped weapons that anything actually identifies is as the SCA.

And I don't mean that in a snarky way - I spend a lot of time observing all
sorts of "dress up in freaky clothes" groups outside the SCA as well.
There are differences, just as there are regional differences within the
SCA. I just got sent a URL from a friend for a guy in Calontir who takes
pictures of events (http://www.tancos.net/main.html) and I must say that he
manages to convey in pictures the way SCA events used to feel to me back in
the 80s (yeah, yeah, I know - "poor Diarmaid, 'back in my day it snowed
lemon drops and rained Cuervo'"). Things change and evolve, and we must
adapt to them.

Don't mind me - it's been a lousy week, and I just like sharing pictures :)
Too bad we don't have all that many of our OWN to look at (*hint*, *hint*).
[note: If you want your picture to appear on the Official web site, don't
look at the camera!]
