Unfortunately, the Scots and the Irish are not alway interchangeable :)
Muirenns, Maureens, Marions, Maryannes, Mehrins, and so on -- or so I'm
told.  I was just trying to suggest that if the lady really -did- care. she
might want to look into tracking down an onomastics expert -before- she
settled down and got married to what name she wanted.
