You might check to see if Red Wing has a store in the area.  They have a 
machine that will accurately measure your feet, and they can put you into 
some of the most comfortable commercially made shoes you can find.  They 
are also one of the very few shoe manufacturers left in America, and if it 
says Red Wing, that is where it is made.  They have another house brand 
that is a bit cheaper that is made to their specs in China.  They aren't 
cheap, but you get what you pay for.
