Herself generally advises the "hit thrift stores, learn to identify linen
versus the fakes on your own, and watch for old sheets, table cloths, that
sort of thing" as well as keep an eye out for the cheap sales at the fabric
stores (having once scored a bolt of the white stuff for like a buck a yard
that had been mislabeled as cotton).   If you are looking to use it for
linings, or to layer armor, tacky 70's print table cloths work really well
