Shish-ka-bobs has decided to ask for a guaranteed $200 gross, and I'm having trouble finding another hafla location that won't make similar demands for a Sunday function. For these and a variety of other reasons, many of them thousands of miles away, I've decided not to organize another hafla at this time. My apologies to those of you who were looking forward to it. If you still want to drum/dance/party, come to the bellydance/drumming show at the Tulsa Airport Radisson Inn, Saturday, March 29, at 7:30 p.m. The admission price is $12, but the show will be excellent, and everyone who attends is invited to stay for a big hafla afterwards. You are more than welcome to come in garb and bring your drums. Kamuran, the SCA drummer coming from Meridies, is only bringing garb for the four days he'll be here. The bazaar will be open until 10 that night, so you can see a show, revel, and shop for swords, daggers, drums, drum slings and cases, scented oils, Banjara textiles, ethnic clothing (cholis, salwar kameez, saris, skirts, pareos and gorgeous Celtic knotwork sarong shirts), coin belts, and all manner of other delightful things. Lady Littlefox will have a henna table set up during the day. I'm awaiting word on whether Dominique is coming up from Weisenfeuer.

Kamuran will be teaching our Monday drum class on March 31, or I would bring him to Populace. But we hope to make it to Afterglow, so bring a drum, if you have one. Maybe we can get away with a mini-hafla at Mazzio's.
