This is not an Sca posting, but it is an SCA-interest one.
For those who may have missed the announcements, Gibsons Martial Arts & The
Midwest Historical Fencers Project (neither of whom am I actually affiliated
with, BTW) are hosting Christian Tobler for a seminar "On the fight of of
Liechtenauer and Ringeck". Tobler is the author of _Secrets of German
Medieval Swordsmanship_.
If you took the Fiori seminar last year, it has been suggested that the
Johannes the Swabian" that Fiori learned from may have been Johannes
Liechtenauer. It is known that Liechtenauer greatly influenced the German
fighting manuals for centuries afterwords (e.g. Talhoffer, Ringeck,
Doebringer and so on).
And since all learning is a matter of building upon what went before,
looking at these old fechtbuchs can really help to see where fighting
developed from.

If it seems to be a bit expensive, based on last year's seminar, you should
be getting more than what you've paid for.
