Ok, I'd like a bit of clarification.  "Roman water" is what exactly.  I
was given to understand that its vinegar and water in a 1:10 or
thereabouts mixture.

I was also given to understand that the drink this weekend was a
melomel/water mix.

(For those who missed the  background, Damon's been helping me with a
project on Medieval wine, and the large amount of vinegar I currently
have
is the result of the first attempt he made.  Even though it's not what
was
expected, it is still greatly appreciated).
