It's fairly straightforward. I pull the staples, and then each separate
issue is treated as a signature, with 12 issues from May to April making up
a volume. Generally I've used a variety of different medieval techniques
and styles. The hard parts are the fragility of the paper and a number of
issues from the Blackfox eras are the original paste-ups, and so there are
some acid problems (as well as problems with the adhesive failing). I'm
still working on these, and may finally give in and just making a new copy
of the issue. De-acidifying is no big deal, it's just messy and can get you
wrinkled paper.
Actually the major hang up is that no one has copies of the missing issues,
and I've been reluctant to bind incomplete volumes.
