No, sometime in the 3rd Century the Christians killed the librarian (Her name was Hypatia). Then in the 5th Century (I believe) the Moslems burned all of the books in the library because the local caliph said "if they repeat what is in the Quran, then they are redundant, if they don't, they are heresy."

I was under the impression that the Library at Alexandria burned down after
Caesar had set fire to all of Ptolemy's fleet in the Alexandrian harbor and it
spread to the city. Perhaps I heard it wrong.
