Well, I can agree with the if you are bored just get involved with the SCA more. Prior to moving to Alabama, we did Renaissance Faires only, as you may know from having a faire in OK City it can get expensive and just a wee bit boring.
Our first event was Magna Faire which is our Regional A&S Event 1st weekend in December. Never have we been more shocked to receive so much for so little, $23.00 included our lodging, classes, shows, a 7 remove feast, fencing, the competition, a ball, drumming a revel fire I am sure the list goes on and on. We were hooked, I remember asking when it was over if our group was sure we were charge correctly.
We use to sit around and figure try to figure out what to do to fill the bored hours. Now I do not believe we have any more. As a matter a fact I may have 2 peoples lives worth of activities. LOL
There are somethings that ou'll have in your Barony that are not avialable to us now that really intrigue me.
I could not tell you what our active roster says but, I know there are about 25-30 that come to our meetings regularly. We have meetings once a week but, it is hard to find people to do classes and project nights. Currently we seem to be drawing off the same people and they are getting a wee tired.
You'll mentioned Scribal Guild, Shoe Making Classes, Archery, Rapier, Heavy, Youth Fighting, Live Weapons, and Middle Eastern Drumming and much more.
Oh wow, right now we have dance, rapier and heavy fighting that is it.
I am simply amazed at the possiblities.

Greetings!

We welcome you to our fair Barony,

Let me first apologize, they are being TOO modest! We have many avenues of learning from Universities, Junior Colleges, Tech Schools and many Extensions to more Universities. If you don't mind a bit of a drive (less than 2hrs one way), you can goto the bigger Oklahoma Universities.

Bookstores, many to choose from; just drive and you find one within 3miles. Garners is fantastic for old books and to just fondle many volumes of text. If you enjoy the freshness in books we have many new booksellers. We have people in our GREAT Barony that work for bookstores and the library system that can help get you to more allusive texts.

Movie theaters; .50 - $???. We have several theaters that offer a bit of entertainment for a few coins to the Grander experience of Imax. If your taste is from a finer faire, we have Live Theaters. I have been told we have some of the best talent in the nation grace our stages. We also have outdoor theaters for concerts & Oklahoma musicals.

Events & Guilds; many within 2hrs. We have so much to choose from, you can fill your week with some SCA activity outside your home. Please feel free to ask questions, we have many people that can direct you to the various areas you are interested and those you might not even know about! If you are bored, you just need to get more involved with the SCA more.
