That would appear to be the issue.  The question appears to involve
whether the apostrophy was in use in this fashion in the period of our
order's name (and the research would apparently indicate that it was
not).

The comment on the registration is:
Submitted as Order of the Lion's Paw of Kenmare, we have removed the
apostrophe; there is no evidence that the apostrophe was used in period.
