Good to hear you are well and had fun with the kiddies. Good luck with
your nomination, I think you deserve it. There are probably more than a
few in our Barony who would rather face Ivan than a group of children...
Much less in a confined space like that where you can't hide from them.

Hey guys it is my Gelis,

I am writting to tell you about the marvelous day I had yesterday.
Terrible Ivan gave me the opportunity of a lifetime. To entertain and
distract children from the not so great situation of being in a shelter
for Terrible Ivan.

My alter ego Flutter Bye went to the Pelham Civic Center where they set
up a shelter and clowned for 9 hours. We had a blast we danced and sang
songs, played tag, colored, read stories, kids tried to teach Flutter
Bye how to be a cheerleader, I did balloon creations for 4 hours. Took
a 1 1/2 hour break and came back and did puppets and face painting.

I truly appreciated the Red Cross allowing me to make a difference for
50+ kids stuck in a bad situation.

One child informed me she expected to be bored and that she was having
so much fun.

They wrote the story about it in the Birmingham News and have nominated
me for Hurricane Heroes which apparently is something People Magazine is
doing.

I just wanted to share with you'll this wonderful exciting day and to
let everyone know that I hope their day was truly blessed as well.
