You are invited to come play with us!
Beltane Games is Namron's springtime celebration of peace, prosperity, and
fertility. Every culture has ancient traditions connecting spring with
ideas such as fertility, life, and rebirth or renewal. Beltane is a time to
lay down your weapons, show your fighting prowess in games of strength and
skill, and celebrate childhood and beauty.

What can Fighters do?
Vie for the prestigious position of Titled Archer of Namron.
Show your skill and accuracy in the Knife, Axe, and Spear competition.
Caber Toss, Rock Throw, Tug-of-War and to really impress the ladies - Dance
the Maypole!

Teamwork and Strategy!
Boat Racing (land-lubber approved) - crew a land-based boat and help your
teammates walk it around the track to win the race.
Tug-of-War and even Maypole Dancing require a certain, eh, strategy.
Quest! They'll be a quest. A surprise quest.

Arts and Sciences!
You know who you are. You know that project you've been working on. Bring
it to Namron for a chance to be rewarded for all your efforts.

Have a Voice? Know how to use it?
Namron's Titled Bard competition is always an incredible feast for the
ears - the more the merrier.
Voice Heraldry Competition - inform, entertain, and impress the populace.

Beautiful Bottles of Brew!
Namron's Titled Brewer competition - check out the rules at
http://namron.ansteorra.org/beltane_brewing_comp.htm

Beautiful Ladies who should inspire Springtime herself -
Who should be May Queen and Spang Princess? Let the fates decide - women
over 18 can sign up for May Queen and spring flowers 17 and under can sign
up at Gate to see who will spread happiness, beauty and fun this Beltane.

Everyone can be a kid!
Children's activities throughout the day. In addition to the usual Minister
of Children's activities, kids can participate in many of the activities
throughout the day. Spang Hewing is everyone's favorite.

Spang Hewing? HUH?
Take a spang (frog-doll) full of rice, wet it down, pick it up with a stick,
and lob it at a target who'll do their best to convince you you'll never hit
'em.

Spang Decorating!
That's right, make your own spang and decorate it as you please. The best
one wins! See the pattern on our event website below.

So many things to do - I've surely forgotten something. Come and play with
us May 6-8 at Lake Murray.
