[Northkeep] Arrows?

I called my uncle and he wasnt as picky as I thought we going to be. Basically he said he doesnt care if they were modern or period (hes not in the SCA...yet, im still trying to get him to join down in Texas). I was confused on the type of arrow question but he said Practice Arrow if thats helps. He doesnt care what the arrows look like as long they are brightly colored (purple and blue possibly) and are usable. The draw weight 45 lb. and draw length is 28 in. He also told me to mention that his bow is a Bo Pearcon Recurve, he said that would help alot on figuring out what he is needing. So if either one of you is interested in either doing it yourself or have the patience to teach and help me make them on my own that would be awsome. Just tell me when and where and how much money is needed (hopefully the information will help with a more accurate price). Im going down to Texas May 11 and was going to give them to him then, im not sure how long it takes to make them but I wanted to
go on and give you the time period. Also one other question is how many arrows are a good start for practicing? I just took a dozen off the top of my head but 6 (for example) would work if thats all that could be made in that period of time. Thank you so much again.

GREETINGS

MAKING MODERN ARROWS IS FAIRLY EASY .
MAKING PERIOD ARROWS IS A BIT MORE CHALLENGING .
ARE THESE TO BE USED IN THE SCA ??

DO YOU KNOW WHICH TYPE OF ARROW HE IS WANTING ??
DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE DRAW WEIGHT OF HIS LONG BOW IS ?
DO YOU KNOW HIS DRAW LENGTH ?

DO YOU KNOW WHAT STYLE OF FLETCHING HE WANTS ?
DO YOU KNOW WHAT COLOR OF FLETCHING HE WANTS ?
IS HE WANTING COLORED SHAFTS ? OR NATURAL SHAFTS ?
DOES HE LIKE A HEAVY SHAFT OR A LIGHT SHAFT ??

THESE ARE ALL THINGS A FLETCHER WILL NEED TO KNOW .

RAW MATERIALS WITH NATURAL SHAFTS , AND PARABOLIC FLETCHES , NIRK NOCKS ,
AND 11 / 32
,125 GRAIN FIELD POINTS . WERE RUNNING AT JUST OVER $40.00 A DOZEN .
BUT WITH THE COST OF FUEL HAVING ALMOST DOUBLED , EVERYTHING MAY HAVE GONE
UP A BIT INCLUDING S & H .

( NOTE )
IF HE JUST WANTS A DOZEN MODERN WOODEN ARROWS IN HIS SCA COLORS .
WHAT BETTER WAY TO SURPRISE HIM , THAN TO COME OUT TO ARCHERY PRACTICE , AND
LEARN TO MAKE ARROWS AS YOU MAKE HIS ARROWS AS A GIFT ??

IF HE WANTS SOMETHING WITH PERIOD NOCKS , OR FANCY YOU WOULD PROBABLY BE
BETTER OFF GOING TO LADY ZAHAVA AS SHE HAS MORE EXPERIENCE THAN I DO .
( Zahava 688-9317 )

OR IF HE WANTS REALLY FANCY " MATCH GRADE " ARROWS I CAN LOOK UP A COUPLE
OF LINKS ..
BUT BE WARNED THEY TEND TO BE VERY PRICEY .

BE SAFE, BE HAPPY, HAVE FUN

them. My uncle just bought a longbow and wants certain colors but cant find
any so I was going to get some for his birthday. If you can take a guess for
the price on mabey a dozen and send it to me, I can call him for more
specifics. Thanks.
