Howdy folks!
The good news is, we found a house in OKC, and we are closing on the
25th (and there was much rejoicing...). The bad news is, Etienne has
prior commitments both this weekend and next, and won't be able to be
here in Tulsa. So I would really love it if I can get some
volunteers to help get everything packed up and loaded.
This weekend we will be loading a PODS shipping container. Friday
daytime 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and evening 7-10 p.m., I could particularly
use people who know how to pack breakables, as well as a few hefty
toting-fetching types to load things into the POD. Saturday we'll be
working the same shifts, with more need for moving than packing,
hopefully. I know the newcomers' workshop will be taking place on
Saturday, but if you could spare some time before or after, I would
be most appreciative. If there's anything left to do, we'll start up
again at 9 am on Sunday. Our usual payment for moving help is pizza
& beer--I was thinking Hideaway, Sunday evening.
The next weekend we have a 17-ft. U-Haul truck reserved, which can be
picked up either Friday evening (8/26) or Saturday morning (8/27).
This will mainly be used to move the contents of our storage unit.
Loading will commence at 9 am, at the storage unit (I will provide
directions and gate codes if you want to help with this part of the
job). We will need to drop off a few things at the house, fill up
the empty space with things that didn't fit in the POD, then on to
OKC. Etienne's recruiting some Wiesenfeurians to help unload when we
get there. The most important helper I will need that weekend is a
driver (or team of drivers) who can drive the U-Haul to OKC and
return it to Tulsa Saturday evening.
Any time during the moving process, a child entertainer/distractor
would be most welcome.
Also, does anyone have a dolly, hand truck, furniture mover, or
whatever-you-may-call-it you would be willing to loan out?
And BOXES--I have some but more are always welcome.

P.S. Moving companies really have no concept of SCA homes, do they?
That 17 ft. truck is supposed to be big enough to hold the entire
contents of our house!
