THE SECRET OF ROAN INISH September 17   [image: ROAN GIRL] An Irish legend
comes to life in this enchanting film of a girl's search for her missing
baby brother in acclaimed director John Sayles' little masterpiece, *THE
SECRET OF ROAN INISH*. Set in the 1940's, ten-year-old Fiona Coneelly is
sent to live with her grandparents in a small fishing village on Ireland's
west coast. There, little by little, she learns about her ancestors, the
mysterious disappearance of her little brother Jamie, and the island of Roan
Inish - her family's homeland for generations that they have abandoned. As
she develops a special relationship with the seals and seagulls that inhabit
and surround the deserted island, Fiona comes to suspect that wee Jamie is
perhaps not so far away.

Not seen in theaters since its original release in the mid 1990's, *THE
SECRET OF ROAN INISH* wove a unique blend of magical realism to create a
film that for many became an unforgettable favorite. Now, through very
special arrangements of film producer and former Tulsan Phil Fehrle and
First Look Pictures of Los Angeles, the Circle Cinema will present the only
theatrical showing in over a decade of *THE SECRET OF ROAN INISH*.

In addition, Mr. Fehrle, who was an executive with Jones Entertainment Group
LTD that was a producer of the film, will be at the Circle to speak about *THE
SECRET OF ROAN INISH*. Fehrle was responsible for green lighting the "Roan
Inish" project. He will discuss the source of the story, the making of the
film, working with director John Sayles, as well as why he considers his
association with this film to be a highlight of his career.
