As promised, here are the guidelines/rules for the MOC Art Contest. Any questions, as always
email me.

As I had mentioned in Populace last month, the children of Northkeep have a chance at having their
artwork published in the Saga for the November issue. Below are the "rules" for the contest.

1. Any of Northkeep's children may enter.

2. The artwork MUST come from the "persona" of the child and must contain elements of the culture
from the persona's time period. It can have a "cultural winter celebration theme" from their time
period if desired. The purposes of this are as follows:

a. It allows the children to be a part of the SCA by placing them in a time period. These
children NEED a persona.

b. The children need a challenge. It expands children's historical and cultural viewpoints.
They cannot be aware of why they play if they don't have an idea of what they want to portray.
They cannot portray their personas accurately if they don't know who they are.

c. It gives the children control of their involvement. They will be able to control the level of
input for their personal selves/persona.

d. It provides parent/child time for the younger ones. They can't do it without you :-)

3. The artwork MUST be done ONLY by the child. Help the child research the culture's artwork so
they can get an idea, but don't do it for them - please. Guide.

4. The art will be judged by someone other than myself. A panel of people will be involved to
make sure it is fair.

5. The deadline is October populace. I will try to send out a reminder.

6. Keep the art so it can be scanned/xeroxed/photographed etc.... If it is too textured or large
then it may not represent well in the Saga. Feel free to be CREATE, however. All artwork will be
displayed for the Populace to see in November.

If you have any questions, please email me privately.
