Ian, our family had a very dear friend who emigrated from Scotland in the
early
60's.  She was born and raised on a farm next to the battlefield which was
featured
in the movie Braveheart (course they didn't *film* on the actual site)....
anyhoo, I asked her one time about haggis.  Her opinion was... while she was
expected to eat at least a 'bite' on occasion...she'd druther NOT...much to
the
disgust of her Granda!

All in all it's seems to be an acquired taste.
