[Northkeep] OT Request OOPS!

Large heavy packages may never get to the soldier due to availability of
helicopter load limits and capacity (which is how most mail is delivered to
forward deployed units). Do not send pornographic materials, alcohol of any
sort, weapons or ammunitions. There are no restrictions on foods or
personal care items. School type supplies should be fine.

Most soldiers have access to small stores where they can get stuff like
razors, toothpaste and such, so keep that in mind.

Books, Baked goods, pre-paid phone cards, 220 to 110 power converters,
games, cards, brown t-shirts, green or black wool boot-socks, weapon
cleaning kits for 5.56mm or 7.62mm guns, rail system compatible scopes,...
are just a few ideas that would be good to send.

If you're corresponding with a particular soldier, ask them what they need.
Not everyone is in the same situation and not every item you send will work
for them all.

Monday greetings!

A question for those who have sent packages/mail to troops: Is there any
restrictions/recommendations like the one below that we should be aware of?
And Zubeydah's question - "What is the source of the names? A group like
Blue Star Moms? or? Are these soldiers (or family members) ok with their
info being given out? -zubeydah" Being unfamiliar with the whole process,
guidance is good :)
