[Northkeep] OT-- Excel Help

I'm not a complete dummy when it comes to computers, but other that filling in cells on excel I have no idea what to do with it I need to build a searchable data base.?it is probably the first thing anybody who knows anything about excel learns but?I don't have a clue.
