[Northkeep] Okay now.. what is REALY the best way to get to Gulf??

I have been to Gulf 6 times. I used to drive to my (now ex-) in-laws THROUGH Hattisburg 2 times a year. I still can not figure out what the fastest way down there is. One year Catan and I made it down in less than 10 hours (I haven't got a clue how, aside from the fact that it was her brand new car and we both have lead feet). One year I went in a 3-car caravan with Marta and it took 16 hours. 

This year we will be heading down at 5pm on Wednesday after work and really need the fastest way down. So, what in y'all's opinion is the  fastest way from Tulsa to Gulf? I am not afraid of little towns or back roads, so long as we will be able to get gas when we need.
