    Ivo and I have been discussing something very like this.  Our thought
was to use digital recorders, (which are becoming very inexpensive) and save
everything as MP3.  After a bit of editing they can be distributed as
podcasts or burned onto CD.   This would let people from all over the
Kingdom collect stories and easily send them to a central location.  It
would also let people hear the stories as well as read them.  Since we're
not recording music a relatively low sampling rate on the MP3s would be
acceptable so the files would not be very large.
   Gotta run right now but I would love to discuss this with you
