As promised at fighter practice:

Hot nuts:
1 stick of butter, melted
2 tablespoons Garlic salt (or 1 tablespoon each of garlic salt and garlic
powder, if you want less salt)
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons cayenne pepper (to make a less spicy version, I use New Mexico
chili powder instead)
1 pound of pecan halves (or a mix of nuts, but pecans have all those nooks
and crannies that hold the seasonings really well)

Mix the 1st 4 ingredients together and pour over the nuts. Bake at 300 for
30 minutes. Yum.

Saltine toffee:
about 40 Saltine crackers (enough for a single layer to cover a baking
sheet)
2 sticks of butter
3/4 cup of brown sugar
1 bag of chocolate chips

I suggest that you use parchment or foil to line your cookie sheet. spread
out the saltines on the sheet.
In a saucepan, melt the butter and add the sugar. Bring to a boil and then
simmer for 5-6 minutes, until thick.
Pour the mixture over the saltine crackers and spread it to cover all the
crackers evenly. Bake at 350 for 7-8 minutes.
Remove toffee from the oven and sprinkle on the chocolate chips. Let it sit
for 2 minutes and then the chips will be melty enough to spread evenly over
the toffee. Cool, crack into chunks and enjoy.

Fighter practice was great.

Happy new year.

Therese
