Well met one and all,

I remember that Chemin Noir event and the feast. The two ladies Kelandra and
Elizabeth did a competition of courses. Kelandra made a dish from the Celtic
Isles for each course and Elizabeth did a French dish for each course. Dressed
in my kilt and barefooted I announced each course and played up the
competition...and the servers wore tokens either plaid or a french fluer.

The day of that event the weather was wonderful and even for a late fall event
where the temps dipped cool into the night I was able to go about barefooted as
any good Scotts should.

That event set a precedence and a standard for the quality and style for me that
every Chemin Noir event since has met or exceeded. The Fair in Chemin Noir what
ever its theme is a real treasure, one of those old style SCA events where the
pace is laid back, the fighting is fun not only to take part in but also to
watch, where the company and conversation are always the best, and the feasts
are outstanding, where the hall is always filled with laughter, music, and merry
making. I will attend every event Chemin Noir holds seeking and enjoying those
magical moments that only a small laid back event like this can offer. Also
because you can litterally feel how much of their heart and soul the people of
that Canton pour into their events and everything they do in the SCA.

Most Kindly
Ian
