Hmm not sure how I missed this question originally.  Actually there is a
large parking lot for the Bernsen center so parking right at the event site
should not be an issue at all.  And we can use the church parking lot if
overflow is needed.  And you are correct in that all meters are also free
for weekend parking.

Gee, I actually know the answer to this. . . unless things have  
changed drastically, there is actually quite a lot of free parking  
downtown on evenings and weekends.  There is a church-owned parking  
lot to the west of the Bernsen building.  The church also has parking  
on the south and east sides of the main church building (across Boston  
Ave. from the Bernsen center).  Metered parking along the streets is  
also free on weekends.
