[Northkeep] Home Sweet Home

Thorvald and I have finally made it home. We stayed overnight in Little Rock and took our time. Before we hit the snow, we had a blowout. The kind that if you have to have a blowout, this is the one you would want. No jerk, no swerve, not even a wiggle, just a sound. Thank God, Angus and Ciana were only 5 minutes behind us, a real blessing as they even took a different route than us that connected with Little Rock. We couldn't get the spare out from under the truck, though 3 of us tried. (How many SCAdians does it take to change a tire?) Anyway, another blessing, Angus has the same sort of truck and his spare fit just right. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Thorvald is now one of Wolfstar's Alphas. The other being Ainar. So, he has new responsibilities as head of household. First on the list was an offer by Osprey. They are collecting money to build a bridge across the gulley behind the camping area that will take fighters directly to the field. This will avoid having to leave the back 40 to go to the tavern and around 5 points. The fee will allow each group a 10 foot section to paint/decorate as they please, and the bridge will be wide enough for wagons and such.
I worked Scribal Point all week as my painful back doesn't allow me to stand too long. I hated not volunteering for Chirurgeon Point, but with my luck someone would fall flat and I couldn't bend down to give them CPR. Better left to the healthier bunch. I painted 3 charters that were given out and was very happy. To top it off, I won a nice axe at the volunteer raffle, which I gave to Thorvald, of course.
As for his fighting, I will allow him to embellish.
Hope everyone has made it home safe now. And thanks to those who remained to protect the homefront.

May you work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt, and dance like no one is watching.
