I have to say that I have never been more proud of being in the SCA
than I was today. We were able to have a fantastic demo, thanks to our
group. We not only put on a great show for the Boy Scouts, we were
able to make an impact on these kids in such a way that I know they
will never forget us. My best memory will be of our fighters standing
with swords held high as the Cubs transitioned to Boy Scouts. In their
passage, cubs go across a bridge and on the other side the Boy Scouts
wait to greet and congratulate them. When it was time for the bridge
crossing, our guys all got up and stood on one side of the bridge with
swords held high. The second the fighters stood up and walked over
with swords, those cubs got the most incredible looks on their faces
and I could just tell they really felt like they were somebody and
that their accomplishments were really something great. This Blue and
Gold dinner and right of passage for the Cubs to Scouts happens every
year, but not like this. Because of the SCA and Northkeep these kids
experienced something they will never forget. I want to thank everyone
who attended. Special thanks to Adalia who really helped with speaking
to people, explaining things etc... Also a special thanks to Baron
Facon and Sir Ulf who gave amazing and heartfelt speeches about
courage and honor. Because of the SCA these kids have even more to
believe in! Thanks everyone, that was an amazing experience!!
