I would be happy to teach Sprang--*Sprang* is an ancient method of
constructing fabric <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fabric> that has a
natural elasticity. Its appearance is similar to netting
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Net_%28textile%29>, but unlike netting
sprang is constructed entirely from warp
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warp_%28weaving%29> threads.
Archaeological <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archaeology> evidence
indicates that sprang predates knitting
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knitting>; the two needlework
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Needlework> forms bear a visible
resemblance and serve similar functions but require different production
techniques. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sprang)

and naalbinding, the Oslo stitch--*Nålebinding* (Danish
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danish_%28language%29>: literally "binding
with a needle" or "needle-binding", also *naalbinding*, *nålbinding* or
*naalebinding*) is a fabric creation technique predating both knitting
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knitting> and crochet
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crochet>. Also known in English as
"knotless netting," "knotless knitting," ^[1]
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N%C3%A5lebinding#endnote_Wills1> or
"single needle knitting. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nalbinding)
