Sounds like you're thinking of Charleston, SC, Aoife.  Although  
Charleston, WV, should be pretty this time of year, with the fall  
foliage on the mountains.

My first thought was to wonder if you are flying directly into  
Charleston, and whether you've ever experienced their runway before.   
Etienne said it was pretty--umm--interesting.
