Now that Gulf Wars is over, everyone's wallet is lighter, and what the war didn't take, taxes have eaten, and we're left with the lonely jingle of the few, surviving coins in the bottoms of our purses. So, what hair-brained scheme does Talana come up with now?

A fundraising sale, of course! Don't roll your eyes just yet. Everything will be priced to move, to be easy on the pocketbook. I'm talking like a dollar or less for most items.

Why do this, you ask? Well, some of our older members will remember Lady Adona Astrid, m.k.a. Kat Millard-Gehringer. Recently, Diarmaid, Livia, and I helped her clean out the house of her mother, Mary Millard. Mrs. Millard has retired after many years as an art teacher in the Tulsa Public Schools. She is also a skilled artisan, with as many varied craft interests as Yours Truly. She is also a professional pack-rat.

As it was impossible for Mrs. Millard to take but a tiny fraction of her lifetime accumulation of "stuff" to her new home, Lady Adona graciously allowed me to assemble a trove of items that our artisans might find useful. I have boxes crammed with books, needlework supplies, sewing notions, silk paints, paint brushes, calligraphy kits, gold-leafing supplies, and more.

With the kind permission of our Baron and Baroness and of our Seneschal, I will hold this sale at Populace Meeting this coming Monday. I hope that everyone can scrape together a few coins to stock up on things they need, or maybe acquire the materials to try a new craft. The proceeds will be used at their Excellencies' discreation for the Baronial beautification Project.

In servicio,

Talana
