Arthur's experiment with snow ice cream flavors teased out an old memory..
Maple Snow Candy.  The kids from Minnesota brought a jug of real maple syrup
with them one year and made some for us.  It involved boiling syrup and butter, 
then cooling it a bit and pouring over a packed dish of snow.  Yum!  Think I'm
gonna "google" it. I also seem to remember it mentioned in...Little House On The
Prairie?
