[Northkeep] Chickens and Lent

"Such animals contributed variety rather than significant quantities of
meat to the diet. This was especially the case during Lent and other
times of fasting when the strictures forbidding the consumption of meat
were generally interpreted as pertaining only to the flesh of
quadrupeds, thus excluding fish and fowl." - http://www.bookrags.com/tandf/animal-husbandry-1-tf

Hmm. Not to be critical, particularly on the eve of leaving for war, but I think that this web site may be worth some more serious consideration later, when everyone has more time, since it is presenting a detail that is dramatically at odds with more known sources. At the very least someone will need to backtrail these sources, and figure out where the websites authors came up with their information.
