The 8-9 mm rings will not pass muster. The place where I bought my chain is Darkwood Armory, try www.darkwoodarmory.com

They may not carry it on their website but if you directly contact them they will be able to hook you up. Be warned...This stuff is expensive. They tend to run small for their size and a 2XL was $400 a year ago. These are 2/3 sleeved shirts and are fine for light combat but will not stand up to sustained heavy combat. The links will break under heavy use and be useless for light shortly after. However. I will be back in Tulsa on tuesday and can show you the easy way to make your own chainmaille shirt. Its labor intensive but can be made in less than a month if you are willing to do the work. These will be butted links which gives the advantage of ease of making, ease of replacing when they get broken (which they will) and lack of cost (shirt cost will be about $35 dollars in materials).

I will be at grub n garb next wednesday, look me up.

> Where on the internet can one find that particular kind of fine-link, fine-woven chainmaille which serves for light combat as well as chivalric? There is some on museumreplicas. But it is like a t-shirt, when what I want is a hauberk or byrnie.

> Does anybody know if more standard-gauge maille (say 8-9mm inner-diameter links) passes muster for the light-combat puncture test? Assume we are discussing riveted/solid or high tensile strength links.
