greetings

1: newbie

new·bie
[noo-bee, nyoo-] Show IPA
noun
a newcomer or novice, especially an inexperienced user of the Internet or of
computers in general.
Origin:
 1965–70, Americanism; perhaps newb(orn) + -ie

although with research I have found possible bad connotations as well , if
people want to go looking for a bad connotation and take the alternate
spelling " nubie " they could mistakenly think it is a derivative of nubian
if they want to try for some kind of slave like connection, but it would be
a big stretch.

2 : Nu·bi·an
 [noo-bee-uh?n, nyoo-] Show IPA
noun
1.
a member of any of the various peoples inhabiting Nubia.
2.
the Nilo-Saharan language of the Nubians.
3.
a Nubian or black slave.
4.
a Nubian horse.
Origin:
1350–1400; Middle English < Latin origin- (stem of origo ) beginning,
source, lineage, derivative of oriri to rise; cf. orient

3:Nubie
- no dictionary results
No results found for Nubie:

and I guess some guys might get upset if they mistakenly believed that
newbie / nubie was somehow a derivative of nubile, since it has a definite
female connotation .

4: nubile

nu·bile
 [noo-bil, -bahyl, nyoo-] Show IPA
adjective
1.
(of a young woman) suitable for marriage, especially in regard to age or
physical development; marriageable.
2.
(of a young woman) sexually developed and attractive: the nubile girls in
their bikinis.
Word Origin & History
nubile

1640s, "marriageable" (said of a woman), from Fr. nubile, from L. nubilis
"marriageable," from stem of nubere "take as husband." First used 1973 in
sense of "young and sexually attractive."

and I have to say I was unfamiliar with the modern " slang " definition ,
must be a wow thing, since it wasn't in use while I was playing my mmorpg
( now deceased : ( rip )

5 : Noobs

noob
[noob] Show IPA
noun, Slang: Usually Disparaging.
a newbie, especially a person who is new to an online community and whose
online participation and interactions display a lack of skill or knowledge:
Some games and gaming forums are crawling with annoying noobs.
Origin:
 shortening and alteration of newbie

Be Safe , Be Happy, Have Fun .

Please forgive me for my bad manners. I use the term because at our
school, "newbie" is a term of endearment, meaning "young dragon" (our
mascot). I will refrain from using it in Northkeep.

Thank you for your instruction.

Humbly,
Franziska
