I agree with Adalia. Not only is it easier, there's more to see and do. We decided a few years ago that we would incorporate doing other vacation type things on the way there (or back) so that it would be gas and money well spent. Got to do some cool things the last few years. (also if you are in to that Diners Drive-Ins and Dives show there are some of the places from the show on the route)
