If you are Norman English, you would most definitely be after the Conquest in 1066. The Domesday is not a bad place to look to get a list of places. But I would suggest that you start with a history of William the Conquerer and specifically his actions after the conquest. As Norman English you would really only be located in places where his government had firmed its grip on the Saxon English people. Unless you were in the vanguard of his troops and administrators moving out into new areas.
Reviewing how, where, and in what timeline, Williams's government expanded across England would directly offer a timeline for where your persona could reasonably have been.
I'll defer to others on listing other resources for geography, especially in Ireland.
