We got our last one at Lowes, but I think it was a bit higher than  that.  
I do know it was cheaper at Lowes than at Ace Hardware.

i'm a do it yourselfer , for 2 reasons, one, i have  over 5 years in 
building 
maint. and two, i'm too broke to afford to pay  anyone else : (

he probably didn't use yellow pipe seal , tape or paste  ( it's required 
for 
gas applications in most places )
