Please pardon the cross-posting. The gentle referenced below is a local businessman, I just wrote this up for him and am putting it on a few lists, in case there are those not making it to Beltane nor Coastal Grand Baronials.

McAlester Oklahoma will hold its’ annual Armed Forces Day Parade beginning Saturday, May 4, at 10 a.m. in downtown McAlester.
This year, however, the focus is not only on the American soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines who have and currently serve in the nation’s armed forces, but the warfighters across history.
With this in mind, one of the event organizers, Jeff Wolf, is hoping individual reenactors from times past, including Roman through the Renaissance will show up in the warfighter kit that represents their time period, and march in this year’s parade.
Jeff Wolf hopes to line these reenactors up in chronological order in the parade formation, to show warfighters from different eras. Mounted reenactors of medieval times would be especially welcomed, but those on foot are invited as well.
Another area the organizer is searching for help in is from musical groups that represent different timeframes, and in particular that could play marching or military style music from the eras they represent.
A special display area and refreshments will be served after the parade. For more information, or to volunteer, please contact Mr. Wolf at 918-424-5503.
