Hello Northkeep Mailing List!

This is Milokhna, player of a whole 2 years. I made the following post in
the Barony of Northkeep Facebook Group, and Susan the Curious recommended
that I share it here as well. Thanks Susan :)

Good day fair Barony!
I've been thinking about personas. I've had many newcomers ask me how
people make a persona or choose a name.

We in Northkeep have an INCREDIBLE resource available to us in the form of
our community: we have lots of people who have played in the SCA for
years. I want to tap into that knowledge so we can get our experienced
players and newcomers on the same page.

So I have a question for you:

What's the best way to DO this?

My instinct was "meeting at the library with an online stream". Is there
someone who would be interested in teaching about this? Could I facilitate
an open forum discussion? What are your thoughts?

Several people have commented on the post. The Cliff Notes are:

   - Thomas de Groet stated he's beyond happy to help people choose names
   and armory.
   - Adalia stated that there's a lot of ways to go about this and tagged
Elizabeta since she's taught a class on personas before
   - Elizabeta said she's happy to do a class.
   - Susan the Curious stated that Beortlic, Elizabeta, Damon, and Ismet
are all great resources for persona info. Also that trying on different
clothing can help you find what feels right for you
   - Daniele said she needs a discussion like this.
   - Grimbjorn said he's interested in learning about making a persona that
makes sense and isn't culturally appropriating anyone by playing it.
   - Vanessa said she doesn't have a persona, some people have strict
personas, and people have shamed her for not having a persona

In closing: Sorry I keep forgetting the Northkeep Mailing List exists. I
want to make sure everyone is included, and that means you guys :)

Your local pink-haired curiosity,
Milokhna of Northkeep
