[Baron of Northkeep]

Greetings unto the Barony of Northkeep!
As promised, here are the notes/Minutes from the October Populace Meeting:

We had some serious technology issues at Populace and I wanted to apologize
for that!! My computer decided exactly then was the THE.BEST.TIME to need
updates that would take more than an hour to run. To get the word out as
well as we can, these were our talking points of the meeting:
Word Fame:
Emmalina de Medelande -- Received her Sable Thistle in Medieval Hair
Braiding
Geoffrey de Gournay -- joined the Order of the Star of Merit
War of the Rams Camping:
Northkeep has requested land at War of the Rams. If you're going to camp
with us, please let us know so we can best plan a camp layout.
A&S Nights:
I've been putting out some feelers about what classes people would like. I
have been asked for a simple pants class, a series on men's style
cotehardies, and machine sewing 101. I also know the Kingdom is looking for
some insignia for kingdom awards for our scribal nights that will have an
added touch of insignia discussion.
Our A&S nights have not been well attended so what would you like to see
there? What classes or how-to's do you need?
We've received one application for A&S Minister. As soon as it's approved
by the Principality, we'll announce the new A&S Minister -- Thank you,
Grimbjorn for all you did for us!!! You worked so hard. We appreciate you.
Winterkingdom:
We have been assured that we have a bid. We are awaiting final confirmation
from the chosen site that it's available on our date.
*We still need a feast bid!!*
Be thinking about what classes you want to teach as well as classes you
want to attend! Let me or our A&S Minister (when it's announced) know if
you've got a class you'd like to see. We'll see if we can make it happen.
Coronets:
There were some questions asked about the hat bands that Geoffrey and I
wore to Protectorate/Coronation. Geoffrey and I purchased those hat bands
made to look like coronets specifically for our Elizabethan garb. These did
not come out of Baronial coffers and did not meet the expense limit of
requiring a vote. Several questions have been asked about them and we're
happy to answer them. If they survive our tenure, they will be donated to
the Barony when we step down.
Trailer Update:
Geoffrey got a second opinion on the trailer. With today's trailer prices
and the fact that the cargo box is still sound. We have been advised to fix
it instead of sell it. I'm sorry we're waffling on this, but we want to
make sure that we're being good stewards of the Baronial Funds.
Upcoming Events:
Nov 2 - Vindheim Missile Academy II -- in Guthrie -- please keep an eye on
the weather.
Nov 9 -- Adalia is going to Queen's Champion while Geoffrey will be joining
His Serene Highness, Daffyd on a trip to Calontir Crown Tourney.
Nov16 -- Pack for WotR/BAM
Nov 21-24 -- WotR/BAM (Look for a FB Event/Group Northkeep goes to BAM)
Nov 30 -- Geoffrey and I would like to invite everyone to our house for a
Northkeep Leftover Revel -- bring your leftovers to share -- if interest &
weather permits, we'll put a fire pit out back -- bring chairs even if
we're not in the back yard, I do not have enough seats!
Dec 7 -- Winter Crown Tournament
Dec 14 -- Winter Coronet Tournament hosted by Wyldewode -- They need
volunteers -- please be on the lookout for the posts and notes -- help out
wherever you're comfortable doing so. Also, there will be an elevation at
the event!
Dec 21 -- Wiesenfeuer Yule -- This will be our last event for this year --
there will not be a populace meeting in December -- enjoy your holidays!!!
