the<BR><BR><B>Masters' Concert 2003<BR></B>Saturday, November 22nd<BR>7:00
p.m.<BR>at Tulsa's Akdar Shrine Auditorium at 2808 South Sheridan Road,
Tulsa<BR><BR>$8 for adults<BR>$6 for seniors and children (12 &
under)<BR><BR><B>Clinic<BR></B>Saturday, November 22nd<BR>10:00 a.m. till about
3:00 p.m.<BR>For pipers and aspiring pipers, the cost for the entire day (clinic
and concert) will be $25.<BR>Also at Tulsa's Akdar Shrine Auditorium at 2808
South Sheridan Road, Tulsa<BR><BR>The featured performers will be Bob Worrall
and Jimmy Bell, along with some representatives from Lyon College. The
clinic and concert will take place. The clinic portion, which
will be taught by Mr.Worrell. If you aren't confident enough in your piping
skills to actively participate in the clinic, you can certainly sit on the side
of the room and take notes from there. We may be arranging lunch on site
also.<BR><BR>For those who have seen Bob Worrall in concert, you know what a
wonderful performance he presents, weaving stories and playing various pipes and
whistles during the evening. For those that have not, it is an absolute
treat. And Jimmy Bell, along with his entourage from Lyon College, will
keep you captivated with piping that is presented in many ways accompanied by
many instruments. It promises to be an evening you will not soon forget!

the performers<BR><BR><B>Bob Worrall </B>- Bob Worrall is one of North America's
leading teachers, adjudicators and performers. Bob is a respected
composer, having published two collections of bagpipe music, and also having
compositions in a large number of other collections. He is featured on three
solo piping recordings, including the Piping Centre's 1997 recording series, and
is a member of the folk group "Scantily Plaid", which has released its highly
praised first recording, "Just Checking In".<BR><BR>By the time Bob retired from
competitive piping in 1983, his solo accomplishments were extensive, both in
North America and Scotland. He won the North American Professional Championship
an unprecedented 7 times and the Ontario Professional Championship Supreme title
for 12 of his 13 years in the <BR>professional class. He was also the 1977
winner of the March, Strathspey & Reel events in Inverness. He was a pupil
of Bill Millar, Willie Connell and the late John Wilson.<BR><BR>He was added to
the Piobaireachd Society's Senior Judges list and in November of 2000, became
the first non-U.K. adjudicator to judge a major U.K. solo event <BR>when he was
selected to adjudicate the Bratach Gorm in London.<BR><BR>Bob was the senior
instructor at the Gaelic College in Cape Breton for 15 years. His weekend
workshops and recitals provide him with a schedule that has him booked months in
advance and have taken him to virtually all of the Canadian provinces and 35
U.S. states. <BR><BR><BR><B>Jimmy Bell </B>- A Highland Dancer beginning
at age 3, Jimmy began taking piping lessons from his mother at age 8.
She was taught by P/M John MacKenzie of New York and the Highland Light
Infantry. His lessons were taken over by his father, George M. Bell, after
the first year. George's teachers were P/M R. G. Hardie for 14 years, and
P/M Donald MacLeod, MBE for 25 years. <BR><BR>Jimmy has won all major solo
and band awards in the EUSPBA and SUSPBA several times. He was EUSPBA Open
Champion in his first year in Open Competition. Jimmy was also the grade 2
Amateur Snare Champion. Yet another outstanding accomplishment was his
playing with the Kenmure Pipe Band (grade 1) at 12 years old. This band
was the EUSPBA Champion 9 times in 10 years! Mr. Bell was the founder and
P/M of the Parlin and District Pipe Band. This was the preeminent EUSPBA
grade 1 band till his move to Florida in 1990. From the Kenmure and Parlin
organizations have come 27 judges worldwide; more than any other band in
history!<BR><BR>Jimmy took over the Directorship of the Lyon College Scottish
Heritage Program in August of 2003. The band continues to grow from
strength to strength, and will compete at the grade 3 level this year.
