I am glad to hear that you and your MANY friends have routinely made Hattiesburg a stop on your way to Kings Arrow Ranch in Lumberton! I am also glad to tell you that, although Hattiesburg received an unexpected amount of damage due to Hurricane Katrina, that most of our businesses are back up and running! I am quite certain that you and the other 2,999 could stop here and find most everything that you are looking for. If you can give me an idea of where you guys normally shop, or what kind of supplies you are looking for, I can confirm their opening for you. Our restaurants and attractions are mostly all back open, so if you're looking for a pit stop, they're here! However, most of our RV and camping sites are at full occupancy right now, and are often unable to accommodate people passing through. Our one saving grace is the Forrest County Multipurpose Facility, which has a 300-site, state-of-the-art RV Park. Although not like many normal camp grounds, the Multi Purpose Center does offer paved sites, each with a picnic table and covered area. It is also in a very convenient location! So, if you or any of your friends are looking to make Hattiesburg an overnight stop, it would definitely have to be arranged in advance. You can contact the Center at 601.583.7500. Also, I'd like to let you know that the Hattiesburg Visitors Center is located at the Intersection of Highway 49 and Interstate 59, so if anyone is looking for a very nice restroom stop with complimentary coffee, picnic areas, and dog walking areas, make us the place! We'd love to have you stop by! If you have any other questions, please feel free to respond back, or to call me at 601.296.7475. Until then, we hope you have a great trip to the area, and a wonderful camping experience! In the past we would shop in the Hattiesburg area for supplies. We wish to know if the rumors are true that after the Hurricane, services, shops and sources for supplies will be in short supply for camping. Is this true?
