In my humble opinion, the only tents which had any frame work other
than the main poles were: Viking tents, Saxon Getalds and Yurts.

I don't know why there is no evidence and its more work for them.

The evidence I have seen tent makers use is from the Battle of
Grandson. The bell tent walls are very angular which has suggested
internal supports but is more likely to be wider than usual panels.

See 1513 A.D. (Anon., ‘The Battle of Grandson’)

Other supporting evidence some tent makers use is that some ms don't
show guy ropes and therefore there must be some form of internal
support structures. All evidence, be it ms illuminations or period
descriptions is effected by artistic licence and must be taken with a
grain of salt. An artist may not have included guy ropes because they
were too difficult to include in the picture or it spoiled the
depiction of the surrounding scene.

Loyset Lyedet, an illuminator of the 15th century varied between depiction and
non-depiction of guy ropes.
