Greetings all,
Just reading up on the subject of chairs: TI # 40 has a chair that we
are trying that seems promising for a small chair. The article is called
-A Period Chair- by William of the shire.
We also have a larger chair that breaks down and travels with us to
events. The chairs we have now were made by Ld Michael McKensie of
Rosenfeld. I have had them for 7-8 yrs. now with only minor repair on
them. They have also been set up in my yard for long periods and are
still working. The plans are a combination of previous plans that were
developed over a period of several years of many different chairs that
did not hold up very well to either events, large bodies or transport. I
do not have the full patterns anymore but do have drawings somewhere in
my files. Two chairs can be made from 1 sheet of plywood if you do not
make the backs to ornate or oversized. The chairs are very comfortable
and have a good support for the back.
I used the chairs as thrones when queen. They are usually with me at all
events I attend and anyone can look at them and try them out. We can
make new drawings for those interested.
