We also have a design for a (wooden) canopy bed in the Miscellany, 
although we've never actually put a canopy on it--we use the 
framework to hang damp clothes and such on when going to bed at 
Pennsic. But it isn't based on any period original, except in a very 
loose sense (the mechanics of the design are based on a Norse bed, 
but not a canopy bed).
