Unto all on this list, greeting.
I am on a hunt for checkable sources for pavilions. As part of my batchelor's
degree in history I am writing a dissertation on the construction and use of
pavilions between 900 AD and 1700 AD. I have already trawled through many
web sites on the subject and am in need of full academic references to many of
the sources. As an example a listing of "Histoire d'Outremer" does not qualify
as a source. I have already found 6 different versions of it. A full reference for
my purpose would have to include the title the page or drawing itself, the title of
the whole document or text, the institution where the original is to be found,
and the catalogue number used at that institution. e.g. Fol. 45v, Bk. 6, ch. 1,
the citadel of Antioch; a council of war. "Histoire d'Outremer" Paris.
Bibliotheque Nationale de France. MS. fr. 2628.
I apologise for stating the obvious but this is subject to University referencing
standards.
If any of you have the details of a source you think I should consider I would be
very grateful if you could let me know. I am particularly keen to find written
sources.
If my dissertation goes as planned I will hope to place it on the web in the
summer of 2002 for everyone to tear apart at their leisure. I hope that it will
further fuel the discussions that flare up occasionaly and add to our
understanding of the whole topic.
Many thanks in advance.
