RF - Defender of the Fort, 10th Year

Greetings to all.......

Some words from the Stewards of Defender of the Fort, 10th Year.

That time of year is fast approaching....Defender of the Fort is just around
the corner of time on the 3rd weekend of September, Sept. 17-18-19.

Sooooooooo, it is time to start preparing for it.

This year, is the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Barony of Ravens
Fort.

In honor of this we will be having a history display, program and hopefully
some historical type guests and events that will celebrate the 10 years of
the Barony.

More on that as they are firmed up.

Events this year will be, Chivalric, Rapier fighting, and A&S competion. We
will also have the competion for the newcomer Chivalric and Rapier fighters
that have been fighting for 1 year or less.

In addition to all this, word was received yesterday that Ravens Fort's
Defender has been chosen as the sight for the Ansteorrian Kings Lancer
competion. This is the Kingdom Equestrienne contest. More on that as we find
out.

As for what we need to do right now......glad you asked.

We will be having a work day this Sunday at the site. Plans are to begin
about 10am. This Sunday will be a walk around, clean up and figure out where
things will go type session.

The other work days have been set and I will forward the dates as soon as I
find my list (:(

We will be needing the usual things...such as gatekeepers (lots of them),
water bearers, (lots of these too), kitchen help, servers, general
assistants, et.al.

Those wishing to help with gate, please email me so I may "reserve" your
time slot now.

Those wishing to help water bear, call Kezia at home and let her know. The
water bearer coordinator has not been nailed down yet.

Lady Ja cinth and Carla (sorry don't remember your SCA name) are doing the
feast. They will need servers, kitchen help et.al.

I expect that attendance will be around 400-500 with the addition of Kings
Lancer.

Fees will be $5/$5 as usual.

So, lets get rolling and show the Known World that Ravens Fort can put on
the show again, only bigger.
