A while back a message asked "How do you support your group"

I just gotta speak to this one :)

At our last event 122 people signed in at gate claiming to be from Raven's
Fort. While in
fact the latest figures from Master Richard Fairbourne (Kingdom Dep.
Seneschal) show that we have 43 paid members registered at our fair Barony.

There are several actions that have to take place in order for a group to be
successful. The first is to have people that hold offices. There are
specific offices that must be keep filled in order to hold a Baronial
status.
Each office has a function,purpose,and duties. Each officer should have a
deputy to help with these duties and to learn the office. We are arranging
to
start having officer classes. Do not be afraid to take an officers
position,if one need help...just ask                TO SUPPORT OUR BARONY
come to these classes,
ask to be a deputy, and/or hold an office and do a good job. Without these
positions the organization of the SCA would not exits!!!


The events we hold are a big part of the game we play and for some, the only
thing they
know.

We had six work days in order to prepare for this last event. At the
1st weekend 16 people came and helped with the work that had to be done.

During the 2nd weekend 14 people worked for their Barony.

The last weekend just before the event 6 people came to the site.

This was Stargate's event but only 4 of our people were at that event. And
it was Saturday ONLY.

There were several (exact number not keep) that did come on Sunday before
Defender and help. That was the day we worked on the tents.

After an event such  as Defender on Sunday morning, everyone is tired and
ready to go home.

But someone has to clean up.

There were eight people that took down tents, pavilions,ropes, poles
etc....till
4:00 that afternoon.

SO, TO SUPPORT YOUR BARONY, help prepare the site and set up
before the event and to take down after the event. We all have our own camps
to put up and to take down, but, that does not help the Barony. The people
that do this work are the ones that make it possible to have the events.
Without this work you would not have events to go to!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People have to know that the SCA exits as a legitimate  group and that we
have fun. The trash pick up that we do 4 times a year is part of that. We
have picked up trash 8 times during the last 2 years. Yoshi has come to all
of these. Chrystal ,Niklas and Kezia have only missed one. Have you  been to
one ?

Demos are also a part of that. Unfortunately most of our current demos
take place during the day when most of us are at work or in classes. The
Scottish Fair is during the weekend after Thanksgiving, Please attend this
if
you can. We have a few more Demos that are being worked on.

Including a few that will pay the Barony a donation for their work.

Tell others about our group and bring new people to meetings and events.

Also apart of this is to represent the Barony at OTHER EVENTS. To show the
kingdom of Anstora that Raven's Fort is strong and doing good we need to
travel and mix with the other groups so we don't become  isolated.TO SUPPORT
OUR GROUP find ways to show the fun
that we have and the good that we do.

A few other ways TO SUPPORT YOUR BARONY are: Make prizes  or do a scroll for
the events that we give. We always need largess or gifts to give to the
Crown and others as they change or when someone does a noted deed. Volunteer
to teach for an A & S  class. As you travel (and please lets all try to
travel, we can carpool or whatever it takes) to outside events, fly Raven's
Fort banners and tell others you're from Raven's Fort and how great we are.

ALL NEED TO HELP DO THE WORK THAT KEEPS IT RUNNING
